And at the rate where they are been destroyed, it will be a matter of time before that happens. Yet it does not seem to interest the world at all. World Land Trust hopes to change all that by privately purchasing tracks of land in order to protect these forests. And not only rainforests, they hope to protect other wildlife habitats the same way. As for whether they have been successful or not, only time will tell. Currently, they have several projects in Ecuador, Brazil, Paraguay, India, Kenya and Borneo. Of course you can support their efforts by donating generously. You can even donate directly to specific projects. |
