| Description: | A while back, they got tons of awards for being a reliable email service provider. However, since Gmail came along, they have dropped in popularity. One of the main reasons is that their email storage is still limited and their web interface isn't very impressive. Yes, they are still rather reliable (well at least from my side) but honestly, so it Google's Gmail. I hardly face any problem with them at all. I am guessing that Lavabit is banking that serious email users will purchase their premium packages since it is kind of irritating to see advertisements in your incoming messages. Furthermore, there is a limit to the number of emails you can send and receive in your email account. I surely don't want to lose any mails from my customers because of this "limitation". There is honestly not much reason to stay with Lavabit. Yes, I know that their premium service is just 16 bucks per year but why pay when you can get nearly the same thing for free? |
