The International Ecotourism Society http://www.ecotourism.org/ We all love to travel right? But why not do something good for the environment as well while you are at it. The International Ecotourism Society helps to promote tourism which ensures that the environment is conserved or at least not damaged in any way. They hope to educate the society on the whole the benefits of ecotourism - for example, encouraging local farmers to ditch burning down of forests and encourage others to visit the beauty of such areas instead. The primary attractions are of course the natural scenery. On the site, you can donate to their cause. Or just read and understand more about what they are doing.

Gridskipper http://gridskipper.com/ For the frequent traveler. The difference between this little blog and the rest of the pack is that they focus on small but in-depth reviews districts from other sites. I guess it is a collection of travel related reviews but especially for those who travel for entertainment. They are arranged by cities. And that includes Berlin, Tokyo and Sydney. It is always fun and interesting to read experiences, reviews and news about some where far away. It is no wonder this is one of the most popular travel blogs.

Italian Government Tourism Board http://www.italiantourism.com/ What a weird name for a site. Italian Government Tourism Board. Perhaps there is there a Italian Farmers Tourism Board out there as well? Anyway, Italy is famous for one thing - eBay sellers hate them so much, most of them don't ship to Italy. I don't know why. Maybe because their males carry handbags? And other than the vitriol by eBay sellers, Italy is actually a beautiful place, or so I heard. Check out this tourism guide by the Italian "Government". It has tons of travel information, tips and even guides to make your travel to Italy an enjoyable one. Search by region to find useful information. I love Italian food by the way. Check out the upcoming events and news on Italy. You can even download festivals and events so that it will be handy when you need them.

Enjoy Rwanda http://www.enjoyrwanda.info/ Never heard of this country? Well it is somewhere in Africa. I know I know, Africa isn't exactly a popular destination but if you are looking for something different, you have it! As for safety, in my opinion, as long as you stay in the tourist areas, you should be more or less safe. Of course some countries have an element of danger no matter what you do but excitement often comes at a price. However, I would not recommend such destinations to first timers, especially those looking to backpack. If you are keen to visit a country which is very different from yours or those you have visited, try Rwanda. Check out this website to help to get a better feel of the country. Have a look at their recommended lodgings, places of interest, trusted tour operators and so on.

Enjoy Turkey http://www.enjoyturkey.com/ I love Turkey. Seriously I do. I love their food, their culture, their sights and sounds and nearly everything about the country. Oh, did I mention their food? It is probably a mix of African, Eastern and Western influences since they are located just right snack in the middle of the three continents. And you shouldn't worry about the safety as well. The country is pretty safe and the people extremely friendly. Visit Enjoy Turkey to find out some basic information on the country, read the headlines and happenings, check out their cuisine, places of interest, lodgings, climate and their history. And yes, Turkey does offer a lot of fun and adventure to their visitors. If I have the money and the time, I will visit Turkey again. Very very nice place to relax yourself. And the culture there is rather different. And yes, they drink very thick coffee and tea.

South-East Asian Tourism Organization http://www.seato.org/ Isn't it high time that you visited some where different? Sure Europe is romantic but how many times can you stand romantic till you pull all your hairs out? Yes, Japan has all the crazy stuff you ever wanted, but surely gadgets and weird clothing and foodstuff will get dull soon. Hawaii? How many sunburns will you need before you realize that you have to find somewhere else where there are nice beaches as well. Not to worry, how about South East Asia? It might be one of the less popular places to visit but come on, Asia is exotic. You will come face to face with different cultures, different attitudes, different people and different environments. Different is good because different means it is not dull or even expected. Anyway, this tourism organization helps promote tourism through NGOs around the region. They are also involved in numerous projects and they work with the locals to help better their lives as well.

GoLisbon http://www.golisbon.com/ Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. One of the oldest and most historic cities in Europe. And yes, the western most capital of Europe. Probably why they are one of the first to travel to the Americas. And also why they are famous for their seafood as well. We just love seafood don't we? Just look at the number of crab shacks and whatever seafood outlet we have around us. Portugal cuisine is the best and only Lisbon is indeed the capital right? How about fine wines? They have it too. Anyway, this site contains all the information you need to plan for your travel to this beautiful city. Beautiful because of the number of ancients castles, forts, hills and breath-taking sights you can never find anywhere else. One important fact is that Lisbon is the least expensive city in Western Europe, so you might want to think about that when you plan for your next holiday. Could save you quite a lot of money.
