PR Newswire http://www.prnewswire.com/ PR Newswire offers it readers the latest news and happenings around the world. They are a news release agency and they can target the entire globe or just a particular segment or group. It is one of the leaders in news and information distribution services, meant for Public Relation professionals. However, they are also involved in "targetting, evaluation and measurement services". All of these services includes sydication, which will result in more audience. They also offers something called "MediaRoom" which allows companies to put up their own portfolio on their site.

The Daily Beast http://www.thedailybeast.com/ At first I thought the name of this site is "The Daily Best" but then I realize it is "Beast" not "Best". But actually, both suits this site. This news site is actually a collection of news articles from all over the world which the editors believe to be interesting enough to be put on "The Daily Beast". Most likely you will get sensationalized news bits and pieces all jumbled together. But then as with most sensationalized news publications, this one gets my vote. Very good read. Sometimes I would even spend hours at night reading the articles.

The Huffington Post http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ They call themselves "The International Post". Basically they are a major media newspaper which is surprisingly progressive than the rest of the big names. They provide news stories, updates and happenings on world events, politics, business, art, entertainment and nearly everything under the sun. It was founded in 2005 but was acquired by AOL a few years later. The Huffington Post has quite a number of famous contributors like Michael Moor and Edward Kennedy. The problem is probably their website layout which can be very intimidating to casual readers - just too many things stuffed into the front page. But it is good as an alternative voice in American news.

Newseum http://www.newseum.org/ This is way cool. Way cooler than anything I have ever seen. But of course you might be interested in news and events happening around the world. If you are the kind that don't even give a damn about anything, then probably this is the most boring site you ever been. But for news buff like me, this is like some ultimate portal. They have this daily showcase of front pages from more than 80 international newspapers. They have tons of other galleries as well, most showing events and happenings throughout history. Visit their website to check out what are the upcoming events and exhibitions they have. These are not just boring placards and static exhibitions, they are interactive and fun showcases that will definitely make an impression on you. They have been voted Washington DC's "must-visit" site! I like it a lot. And I am sure most visitors will enjoy the museum as well.

AccuWeather http://www.accuweather.com/ Weather for your life. Kind of true if you ask me. Nowadays weather can be so unpredictable and dangerous that it is becoming more important to plan for such severe weather conditions. I know that it is not perfect but good planning can save you a lot of problems later. Especially travelers with nothing much to fall back on if severe weather conditions occur. Just look at the number of people that often get stranded in airports and so on. So before you travel aboard or even in the next district, check out the weather forecast there. Will it be cold? Will there be a storm coming? Is it actually safe to travel there? Will there be a cold chill happening? Important for travelers, also important for the local residents as well. I think we take the weather for granted for far too long already. And check out their weather news as well.
