Chick-fil-A http://www.chick-fil-a.com/ Other than being famous for their "Save the Cows" campaign, they are also famous for promoting Christian values. Scary indeed. Anyway I don't know much about religion and stuff, but their chicken burgers rocks. While chickens around the world might cluck in protest, their 1,000 over stores in the United States are selling chicken entrées by the millions. Their menu includes chicken sandwiches, chicken burgers, chicken salads and wraps, nuggets, desserts and drinks. What is surprising is that they do not offer chicken pieces. Maybe it is a religious thing? Whatever, just enjoy their chicken sandwiches. It is actually better than most other fast food chains' offerings.

Menupages http://www.menupages.com/ Everyone loves dining out, even me. The problem is that we can only dine at places that we know. It sometimes can be difficult to locate good restaurants that serve good food which we want easily. And our moods change. One day we might like certain Mexican food, the next day we might want one particular Italian fare and the next perhaps even Brazilian meats. There are such restaurants around but locating them and knowing exactly what they serve is a problem. No fear, Menupages is here. They have a huge collection of menus for your perusal. You can browse through their menus and see what food they are serving up to their customers. You can browse by cuisine, location and popularity. Oh, Menupages is still limited to a few American cities but hey, considering the scale, it is acceptable. And yes, they have apps for iPhone and Android.

Qdoba Mexican Grill http://www.qdoba.com/ Not exactly high end dining, but compared to other fast food chains, this is actually quite presentable. They are a Mexican restaurant serving serving different to the American public - burritos, tacos, salads, 3-cheese nachos, grilled quesadilla, gumbos, tortillas and so on. I don't know about you but eating burgers every day of the week makes me sad. And Mexican fare is not as fattening and unhealthy as burgers. Yes, I admit it is indeed regular Mexican fare and you can find them easily at Taco Bells. But you should try their take on Mexican food. Not too shabby for a fast food outlet. They now operates over 450 stores in the United States.

Bacardi http://www.bacardi.com/ Rum, the Carribean's gift to mankind. But what most people don't know is that rum is made from sugarcane. Heck, I had thought that rum was made from some weird plant in the dessert. As you know, sugarcane contains the necessary "sugar" from which the yeast consumes and pee out alcohol for us to enjoy. So yes, it is very suitable for making alcoholic drinks. The Bacardi brand of rum is very popular among the party going crowd and is often used as a base for cocktails, especially the Mojito (one of the most famous Cuban cocktails). They also have a range of infused rum - Torched Cherry, Rock Coconut, Dragon Berry, Limon and so on. They sells about 200 million bottles per year. This tells you that people are just partying too hard, even in poor economic times. Remember, rum is also pretty strong stuff and you shouldn't drink and drive.

Jack Daniel's http://www.jackdaniels.com/ A bottle of Jack Daniel's would certainly bring a smile to any alcohol lover's face. Heck, it would definitely bring a smile to my face. Jack Daniel's is a brand of Tennessee Whiskey and they are one of the world's best selling alcoholic drinks. Tennessee whiskey is a straight Bourbon Whiskey produced in the state of Tennessee, the same idea like Cognac. As for its taste...well....I can say it is one of the best tasting ones I ever tried. It is even great drinking straight up - just make sure it is cold. If you are interested in the history of Jack Daniel's, you should visit their website - it contains tons of interesting reads. If you are more interested in which stores sells Jack Daniel's, you shouldn't look any further than your local liquor store. Jack Daniel's is most likely available in every corner of the world. They are the available in those distinct square bottles with black labels.

Moe's Southwest Grill http://moes.com/ Fast food with a big difference! Sure it is still fast food, but with all those burgers out there. we must all crave for something remotely different right? Can't be eating the same old food everyday. It makes Jack a dull boy. Moe's menu basically draws from popular culture like from the TV and movies. And their restaurant theme is fun, casual and bright, which would attract the kids and families. Their mostly Mexican menu includes Burritos, Tacos, Quesadillas, Nachos, Salads, Fajitas & Rice Bowls. I certainly like their "Rice Bowls" menu. I know that Mexican food is all the rage nowadays but if I want Mexican food, I would go for the real stuff rather than fast food. It just doesn't taste the same. But then my taste is a bit different from the rest. It might get a little used to first before I can truly accept Mexican fast food.

Ruth's Chris Steak House http://www.ruthschris.com/ No, not your regular steak house. You might expect Western influenced steaks and menu but you will be surprised. They got their inspiration from the Caribbean. Although not exactly a Caribbean restaurant, you can see from their menu that it is more of a New Orleans style dining. And yes, it is fine dining. You might not always relate Caribbean food with fine dining, but you should remove that stereotype and enjoying great food with a difference. Check out their delicious steaks like the Filet, Porterhouse, T-bone, Ribeye and New York Strip. I mean you are there because of their steaks right? If not, you could check out their other "lite" menus like barbequed shrimp, seared Ahi tuna, Louisiana Seafood Gumbo, grilled shellfish salad or even their mixed grill. Oh, they also have a wide range of wines and cocktails for those who needs a little alcoholic fix.

Labatt http://www.labatt.com/ Canadian beer. They have two distinct types of beer in their arsenal - Labatt Blue and Labatt 50. Labatt Blue is a lager like most other popular brands around the world. And the taste is kind of weak if you ask me. Labatt 50 is a Canadian Blonde ale and its flavour and bitterness is something to be reckoned with. As you know, I like my beers to be more strongly flavoured than the usual. Their beers are pretty popular in Canada and some parts of the United States. However, in other countries, most people probably never heard of this brand. And since it sounds French, most people would think that it is a brand of Foie gras. And as with most Canadian brands, they have their distinct Maple leave logo so that you can differentiate between the numerous Maple leave logos from Canada. I hope that they will further expand and start selling in other countries in significance.

Château Margaux http://www.chateau-margaux.com/ Château Margaux is a winery and they have some of the world's most expensive wines. If you are into wines, you should take a look at their vintage. For me, even if you throw some alcoholic swell at me and call it wine, I would drank it without knowing any better. Anyway, the Château Margaux estate has a very long history of producing very fine wines. If you have the time, check out their website and read it all up. I don't believe that they actually wrote so many things down and what is even more amazing is that there are indeed visitors to their site who actually read those stuff. While you are at it, read about their vintages for a better understanding of the wines. They do have a huge variety of wines available and can be rather confusing to choose (if you have the dough). If not, just refer to the recommendations. Since they are the ones who made the wines, they should know best. Bottoms up!

Martell http://www.martell.com/ One of the most popular brands of Cognac, Martell has been gracing the entertainment scene for decades with their smooth and soft feel and a slight nutty taste. Their collection of Cognac includes Martell VS, VSOP, Noblige, Cordon Bleu, XO, Creation and Cohiba. The difference is the different types of blends. Different regions of grapes will produce different types of brandy, some even very distinct from each other. The Martell VSOP has this gold seal from the French King Louis XIV. I guess it was made during his reign or something like that. So you guys would know it is a old brand and with a very interesting history as well. Martell is also very popular among the older generation - they can spend hours and hours sipping Martell Cognac while talking about politics and what-not in their studies. It is actually the best way to enjoy Cognac - slowly sipping the drink instead of gushing it down like beer or even wine.

Rogue Ales http://www.rogue.com/ They are an American craft brewery based in Ashland Oregon. I know, I know....American breweries are usually not as creative as their European or Australian counterparts. Heck, I admit that even their beers are often not as good as their other counterparts. But Rogue Ales is proving that alcohol and making great tasting ones does not end in the American continent. Rogues Ales make a huge variety of craft beers which will definitely be different from the ones you buy at the stores. Some of their samples include IPAs, American Ale, Chocolate Stout, Mocha Porter, XS Imperial Red and so on. Of course, many of their beers might need a little getting used to, since we are so accustomed to tasteless and bodyless lagers. And not only beers, they are into spirits as well. They have rum, whiskey and gin. This is very good news for America's alcohol beverage industry. It also shows that we are finally able to break out from college kids' lagers and into real beers, like the Germans.

New York City Wine & Food Festival http://www.nycwineandfoodfestival.com/ Honestly, this kind of festival is the one that attracts the most people. You don't have to be sophisticated to enjoy good food, unlike those art festivals where you have no idea what the artists are trying to present to you. But here, you buy and you eat. If your palate is not that sophisticated either, no problems there are a lot of simple enjoyable foods for you as well. This festival showcases some of the best chefs and cooks in the region and around the world. And not only food - wines and winemakers as well. Yes, this is a relatively new festival, only started in 2007. But come on, it is food! Who doesn't like food? You will also get to sample some of those wonderful dishes by those renowned chefs. And the New York City Wine & Food Festival is hosted by the Food Network, so you will be able to rub shoulders with some of the TV celebrities as well. And all profits from the festival will be given to charities.

Jim's Steaks http://www.jimssteaks.com/ Cheese steaks - they never fail to bring back customers. I am not too sure why it is so popular - perhaps it is the cheese? Perhaps it is the meat? Perhaps it is the sauce? How about the other toppings? Yes, it should be the combination of all of the above that makes cheese steaks extremely popular. And Jim's makes one of the better ones. And how about hoagies? They are famous for their hoagies as well - you can choose from special Italian, prosciutto, ham, turkey, tuna and cheese. They claim to only serve with the highest grade top round steer beef. I don't know about that, but I like their food a lot, so it should be true. Probably the reason why they have been around for so long. For those looking for some hardy breakfast, they serve that too. Fattening and you probably don't want people looking at you stuffing yourself full of meat and egg at this popular joint.

Katz's Delicatessen http://katzsdelicatessen.com/ Ahhh.....one of the popular destinations in New York City. Everyone has heard of this shop right? Come on, unless you never watch the movies or something, then you should have heard of this. Anyway, it is famous because of their sandwiches. New Yorkers have it good. They have the best food easily available all year round and thus if New Yorkers like it, then Katz's must be doing something right. And just by looking at their website, you will know that their pastrami will taste delicious. Well, it looks sinful, but unless you are eating this everyday, you shouldn't worry too much about it. Katz's pastrami are always "thick cut", which means you get a hug chuck of pastrami in-between those nice rye bread. If you don't fancy sandwiches, there have a wide selection of items in their menu - soups, omelets, salads, beef stew and even cheese cakes. What is there not to love about Katz's?

Czechvar http://www.czechvar.com The beer that inspired the famous American lager Budweiser. Yes, this is the beer that started it all and if you want to know how did it inspire the beer that millions (of not billions) of people drink everyday, have a gulp or two of this beer. It is made in the Czech Republic, hence the name Czechvar. And the city is Budweis. Get the connection? And like most lagers, they are made from the Saaz hops sourced locally in the region. I mean, what is there not to like about Czechvar dry lagers? They are easy to drink with a wonderful taste and spicy aftertaste. If you have a chance to visit the legendary beer brewing city of Budweis, be sure to check out their brewery. They do offer brewery tours for the alcoholic fiend in you. It is interesting to note that although Budweiser is a very very popular beer, Czechvar (the beer that inspired Budweiser) is not a popular beer around the world. I often wonder why is it so?

Nrgize Lifestyle Cafe http://www.nrgizejuice.com/ I don't know about you but the name "Nrgize" sounds a bit off-putting. I don't know whether it is German, Italian, Mexican, Persian, Russian or wherever. And if I don't know where they are from, I can't trust them. Maybe it is just me? Anyway, Nrgize (Energize) is actually a smoothie outlet. Yes, those health drinks where they blend fruit juices and other stuff into a creamy mixture for you to swallow. And surprisingly, most of them do taste quite nice actually. So if you are looking to stay healthy, fit and trim, replace your soda drinks with smoothies would be a great idea. They even have this range of smoothie blends like "Flu Fighter" which contains Strawberry Peach mixed with Vitamin C & Echinacea as well as "Stamina Squeeze" which contains Strawberry Banana mixed with Whey Protein & Brewer’s Yeast. Adding nutritional supplements to fruit juices seem to be the "in" thing nowadays. Actually a pretty smart way to add nutritional value to juices. Cool. Ditch your Coca Colas or Pepsis and once in a while, drink something beneficial to your health.

Rolling Rock http://www.rollingrock.com/ We love lagers don't we? Everywhere you go, even high class bars, you would definitely see someone gulping down a bottle of lager no matter what. I guess the reason why lagers are so popular is because it is just so easy to drink. You really don't need to appreciate lagers, just drink the contents of the bottle and forget about it. And of course Rolling Rock "33" makes American style lagers. Bland and tasteless but somehow still non-offensive to most. Pretty weak stuff as well, like most lagers. But I like it. I really do. A good drink to have after a tired day at work. And very refreshing as well, enough to quench one's thirst. They are definitely a slightly better grade of lagers than the ones we commonly find in the supermarkets or liquor stores. And oh, nobody seems to know the true reason for the number "33" on the bottle.

Love That Wine http://www.lovethatwine.co.uk/ Ahh....wine. Just one of the most wonderful elixirs available out there. It solves nearly every single problem out there - stress, anger, love, lust and so on. And I don't know about you but ending the day with a glass of wine is probably the best thing I do every day. However, it is important to know that there are many different types of wine. And to truly enjoy wine, you will need to know a little about wine itself. This is where this site comes in. It teaches you how to enjoy wine, what type of wine to look for, what types of wine goes great with what kind of food (food pairing) and so on. No, don't worry, it is not full of jargon and confusing wine connoisseur talk but plain simple easy to understand words for mere mortals like us. Check out their range of wine reviews done by real wine drinkers like us. I know that these are not "experts" but they do have experience and more or less some knowledge about wine.

John's Roast Pork http://www.johnsroastpork.com/ You love roast pork? How about homemade roast pork? Nothing beats homemade right? Well, no more dry and tough roast pork ever again. Have a try at John's Roast Park (or John's Lunch) located somewhere in Philadelphia. They claim to server the best cheese steak in the world and I have to agree. Never I have tasted something better than John's. And from their website, it states that their top quality roast pork is completely homemade and in-house and made fresh daily. And of course other than cheese steak, they serve club sandwiches, hoagies, grills, chicken wings, fries, onion rings as well as an assortment of breakfast items. I know that the location is kind of off for most people, but if you are looking for something mind-blowingly delicious, then you will have to try their cheese steak at least once in your life. If not, then there is no point living. Trust me on that.
