Rubber Division http://www.rubber.org/ Who knew that rubber/polymer can be so interesting. Rubber Division is a site for exchanges of ideas and opinions on rubber and polymer related issues. They provide a common meeting for industry experts to meet and discuss rubber related events and opinions openly. Membership is not free but since this is a rather specialized field, is understandable. They published one of the most highly respected and cited rubber science journals since 1928 - Rubber Chemistry and Technology. And they help promote the Rubber industry with the Rubber Expo, which is held annually.

Amsoil http://www.amsoil.com/ First in Synthetics. I don't really know what that means - maybe it meant that they were to first to introduce some synthetic motor oil which met some weird standard or something. It doesn't matter. All we need to know is that they manufacture oils and lubricants for different purposes. You know - the stuff that you put into your engine and whatever so that your engine will not overheat and so on? Not fuel, but something to lubricate and reduce friction? No? It is okay. Just know that the oil they produce are very important. It goes into everything, from your car to your lawn mower to that huge jumbo airliner you see at the airport. They are based in the United States and from what I know, they sell their products via Multi-Level Marketing. This would mean that they have a core group of dealers who sell to other dealers who might in turn sell others and so on. I don't know about MLM schemes. Smells fishy, even though Amsoil is a pretty big company.

Dow Chemical http://www.dow.com/ The stuff that makes the world go round - chemicals. Without chemicals I think most of the products we use these days will not exists. Simply because most of them are made from chemicals. Even the keyboard I am typing on right at this moment is made from chemicals. So this shows how important chemical companies are. Not only keyboards or plastics, their products include soil chemicals, fertilizers, silicone impacts, pesticides, solvents, lubricants and everything else. I don't know about me but I am kind of afraid of chemical companies. They usually don't have a good record, especially when it comes to treating the environment. But surprisingly, they are one of the most admired companies in the world. This might just mean they make a lot of money.
